We LOVE weddings!
From working closely with our clients to visiting some of Atlantic Canada’s most beautiful properties, we truly have the best job.
What comes top of mind for all of us about our love of weddings is meeting so many awesome couples, hearing their stories and the vision for their big day and ultimately being able to create the ultimate food and event experience for them. It is all in the little details and we really look forward to creating a unique experience that exceeds their expectations.
From stations at the Halifax Central Library to Plated Dinners in a field for 400 guests, anything is possible! If you can dream it – we can do it! Simply put…Weddings are always such joyous events – it is hard not to LOVE being part of such a special occasion for our couples.
Is there anything that you’d like to share that wedding couples might want to know?
Kitchen Door is a scratch catering company – that means we create in-house, nearly everything on our menus and what we don’t make, we source from other local vendors. We smoke our own meats, prepare all our own sauces, dressings and stocks – the quality of our food is the core of our brand. We are a custom catering company and love to create menus based on our client’s unique personalities.
Tell us a little about yourselves...
After cooking school, working and traveling across the USA and Canada, Patty ended up back in the Maritimes, met her husband Ted and settled into life in Halifax. What started as a one-woman start-up, Kitchen Door has now grown into an innovative food company with more than 30+ staff with multiple revenue streams. Patty enjoys working with the team in creating menus, exploring new opportunities and occasionally, you can still find her hiding in the kitchen at an event! She lives in Bedford with her husband Ted and two children, James and Kathleen.

Brittany is the longest standing team member at Kitchen Door and recently returned from a year on leave after the birth of her beautiful daughter Claire. Starting in as the Pastry Chef in 2014, Brittany quickly worked her way through the company and now heads up Business Development. She enjoys local cider, often enjoying a glass on her back deck with her husband Will.
Jessica joined Kitchen Door just over a year ago and has not regretted it the transition from her career in hotels. She knew she wanted to explore a career in the hospitality industry after working as a server as a summer job in high school and went on to study Tourism Management. She loves meeting new people through her role as Catering Events Manager. During her downtime, she enjoys staying active, traveling, binge-watching TV series with her boyfriend, and hanging out with her cat, Aero.
All potential menu options sounded phenomenal and when we inquired about tweaks the chef’s response was sent back to us so quickly! We had an onsite tasting at Kitchen Door which was some of the best food we had ever eaten. We have had non-stop compliments about the food (and KD staff) at our wedding from the first course service until now!
