Mother and Daughters Studio Portrait - Halifax

A mother and her two daughters in the studio, a quiet, unsmiling portrait on a dark backdrop. Not every family picture needs a grin. We ask every family for a few frames like this because the calm ones often become the favourites - they look like a painting and they age well on a wall. Denim on all three tied the group together, and a single soft light from the side kept the mood consistent across the three faces. This was photographed in our 1,200 square foot studio at 19 Diana Drive in Hammonds Plains, about twenty minutes from downtown Halifax. Studio family sessions are a good choice in winter, in bad weather, or when you simply want a classic portrait, and the same session can move outdoors onto our two acres when the light is right.
