Bride and Groom Quiet Moment, Black and White

A bride and groom holding hands in a quiet moment, her hand resting on his cheek. This is the kind of picture that happens when we stop directing and simply wait. We made it against a plain dark backdrop with a single soft light so nothing competes with the two of them, then finished it in black and white. Couples often tell us the formal portraits are the part of the day they are least looking forward to. Our approach is to keep them short, keep them relaxed and give the couple a minute alone in front of the camera, because that is when frames like this appear. Two photographers at every wedding, photographing couples in Halifax and across Nova Scotia since 1995.
