A bride lit by a single stairwell window on the outside of the Delta Hotels Dartmouth, at night. We were roaming the parking lot for a backdrop and found this: a plain brick wall, a column of light and a lot of darkness. Everything in the frame is dark except the stairwell and the dress. It is a good example of what we mean when we say the location matters less than the light. A few minutes after the reception started, one of us slipped outside with the bride while the other stayed with the party, so nothing inside was missed. Black and white was the only choice. Wedding photography in Dartmouth and Halifax since 1995, two photographers at every wedding.
