Four siblings settled into a pile of oak leaves on a bright fall afternoon in Bedford, Nova Scotia. Grey sweaters and jeans were a good call by their parents - simple, coordinated clothing lets the faces and the colour of the leaves do the work. We shot this one in open shade with the sun behind the trees so nobody had to squint, and with two of us on the session one photographer could keep the youngest engaged while the other worked the camera. Fall is the busiest stretch of our year for family photography in Halifax, Bedford, and Hammonds Plains. Our own two acres turn colour in October, and locations like this one are a short drive from the studio. Dogs are welcome at every family session.
