Engagement Sessions

An engagement session is a great way to try us out before the wedding. It is relaxed, there is no timeline to keep, and it is the best way to get comfortable in front of the camera so the wedding day feels easy. It is also how we get to know you.

How it works

Schedule, shoot, online gallery - it really is that simple. We usually plan the session for about an hour before sunset for the best light, at a location that means something to you: Point Pleasant Park, the waterfront, downtown Halifax, a Bedford park, or the beach. Any season works, including winter.

Session fee

If we are photographing your wedding, we waive our session fee as long as the session is scheduled three or more months before your wedding date. If we are not photographing your wedding, or the session is closer than three months to the date, a session fee applies - current pricing is on our wedding pricing page.

The session does not include files or products. We purposely keep the session fee low to make it easy for couples to try us out, and you are under no obligation to purchase anything. We hope you like your images enough to order some, but there is no sales pressure after the session - we are not into that.

What couples do with their engagement images

Save-the-date cards, invitations and slideshows are all popular. Framed prints around the reception, including on the dinner tables, is another nice idea. Our most popular option is the Italian-made signature guest book: an album of your engagement images with room for guests to sign at the wedding.

Do you travel?

We do. There is no travel fee within 50 km of peninsular Halifax; beyond that, see the pricing page for current rates.
