We've been photographing weddings together for more than 30 years - and we've been married since 1998, so we know what the day feels like from both sides of the camera.
With two lead photographers, nothing gets missed - one of us can stay with the ceremony while the other catches the reactions across the room. We keep coverage calm and unobtrusive, and we help plan your timeline so the day never feels rushed.

Our approach to Halifax wedding photography
Most of our coverage is unposed - we photograph what is actually happening - with relaxed, guided portraits of the two of you and your families.
Your wedding should feel like your wedding, not a photo shoot. We spend the day watching for the real moments - your dad seeing you for the first time, the bridesmaids' faces when the door opens, your grandmother on the dance floor - and step in only when a little direction helps.
For portraits we do guide you. We find the light, tell you where to stand and keep it quick, so you are back with your guests in about 20-30 minutes. Because there are two of us, one can set up the next spot while the other finishes the current one, so it moves faster than you expect.
Your gallery comes back as a mix of colour and black and white, every image finished by hand - colour, crop and skin - before you see it.

After more than 30 years of Nova Scotia weddings we usually arrive already knowing where the light falls at 4 PM and where the quiet corner for portraits is. If your venue is new to us, we look at the space and the time of day ahead of the wedding and plan your portrait spots before the day.

What your wedding day looks like with us
We plan the day with you, photograph it as two lead photographers, and deliver your full gallery within four weeks.
Before the day
After you book we talk through your plans and build a photography timeline with you - when to do portraits, how long family photos take, where the light will be. We have a sample timeline for a 3 PM ceremony if you want to see how it fits together. Every timeline has a rain plan built in, so a grey Nova Scotia day changes the location, not the photographs.
On the day
We arrive for getting ready and stay through your planned coverage. During the ceremony one of us stays with the two of you while the other catches the reactions across the room. Family photos run from a short list you send us ahead of time, so nobody is hunting for Uncle Dave.
After the wedding
You get a sneak peek soon after the wedding and your full gallery within four weeks, with high-resolution download and personal printing rights. Italian-made albums are available if you would like one - see our wedding albums.

Questions couples ask us
How much does wedding photography cost in Halifax?
Our wedding collections are $3,800, $4,800 and $5,800 + HST, for up to 6, 8 and 10 hours of coverage. Micro-weddings and elopements start at $1,900 + HST for three hours, and custom hourly coverage is $650 per hour + HST with a three-hour minimum. Every collection includes two lead photographers and an online gallery with high-resolution download.

Are there really two photographers?
Yes. We are both lead photographers at every wedding - not an assistant or a second shooter - so one of us can stay with the ceremony while the other catches the reactions across the room.
Do you travel outside Halifax?
Yes. There is no travel fee within 50 km of peninsular Halifax. Mainland Nova Scotia beyond that is $300 + HST, and Cape Breton is $400 + HST.
How do we hold our date?
Send us your date and venue through the contact page and we confirm availability by email, usually within a few hours. To hold the date you complete our online contract and pay a $1,500 retainer, or 50 percent for elopement collections, all of which goes toward your coverage.
Do we get the digital files?
Yes. Every collection includes an online gallery with high-resolution download and personal printing rights - for personal use you can print, share and copy your images as you like. Your full gallery is delivered within four weeks of the wedding.
Is an engagement session included?
The $4,800 and $5,800 collections include a complimentary engagement session with all retouched files. For other bookings we waive the session fee when the session is scheduled three or more months before the wedding, or you can add a full engagement session with all retouched files for $995 + HST.
What is your wedding photography style?
Mostly unposed - we photograph what is happening rather than staging it - with relaxed, guided portraits of the two of you and your families. Galleries come back as a mix of colour and black and white.
Do you photograph elopements and small weddings?
Yes. Micro-weddings and elopements start at $1,900 + HST for three hours with both of us there. Peak-season Saturdays are kept for full collections, so smaller weddings are usually on other days.
What happens if it rains?
Every timeline we build has a rain plan - covered spots at your venue, or a nearby indoor option. Some of our favourite galleries came from rainy days.
How far ahead should we book?
Most couples book 9-18 months ahead. Dates are limited - weekends go first - so send us your date as soon as you have one and we will confirm availability by email, usually within a few hours.
