Colleen Ryan Bridal Makeup

Creating the vision of who the bride wants to be on her wedding day, Colleen Ryan, an experienced Halifax-based makeup artist, insists each look should be as individual as the bride herself.

Colleen knows her stuff, is very professional and really WOWs her brides and bridesmaids. It's always fun to capture the bride's reaction when she looks in the mirror after Colleen has added the final touches to her makeup. Alex MacAulay, Photographer

MacAulay Centre

Wedding receptions are usually held in the MacAulay Centre. It's a beautiful facility inside and out and I'm not just saying that cause I like the name :)

Bridal Makeup

We first met Colleen Ryan as a bride when we photographed her wedding a few years ago. We learned that Colleen was a professional makeup artist that worked in the film industry. Some of the films she's worked on include The Shipping News and Titanic. We were impressed!

Since her wedding, we've seen her in action working with brides several times and weddings is an area of her business she's looking to expand on. She knows her stuff, is very professional and really WOWs her brides and bridesmaids. It's always fun to watch a brides reaction when she looks in the mirror when her makeup is finished.

Colleen just launched a New Website - definitely worth checking out!

Playing around

Had some gear out today so we plunked Sophia down with a wedding album as a distraction and took some images for fun. Here's some we really liked.

CTV Atlantic 3 of 3

The last in our series of CTV Atlantic personalities, are Live at 5 co-hosts, Starr Dobson and Bruce Frisko. Live at 5 happens to be Sophia's favorite program. While I'm sure that she really likes Bruce and Star, it also may have something to do with the show being on while her dinner is being made :)

Amy & Daniel

On Saturday, Amy & Daniel had the earliest wedding we can remember photographing. There was an energy and excitement around both Amy & Daniel - they were both so looking forward to getting married to one another.

Here they are leaving the wedding on the way to Ireland for their honeymoon - very cool!

Moments in Sepia II

Here is the second installment in our Moments in Sepia series. It's been so much fun going back through past weddings in search of images. Lots of memories of so many great couples along with their parents, friends, and siblings. We also licensed a new song that we using for the first time that I think fits really well - it's called For My Wedding by Larry John McNally.

We'd love to hear what you think so please leave us a comment below.
